Second Sarajevo Green Design Festival 2011 will take place from 09.09.2011 - 17.09.2011.
The focus of this year’s festival is on green implementation. 35 experts from all over the world will be presenting the new methods that can transform the existing design, manufacturing, consumption and life styles concepts into new sustainable concepts. The festival will cover the themes from Green Materials and techniques, Labelling Branding and Design, Social cohesion and cultural continuity, Mobility, Energy solutions, Inclusive Design, Green Cities.

SARAJEVO, 10. SEPTEMBAR / RUJAN 2011: U Sarajevu se od 09. do 17. septembra / rujna održava 2. Sarajevo Green Design Festival. Ovaj događaj ima za cilj promovirati važnost kvalitetnog, zelenog i održivog dizajna te učiniti Sarajevo “zelenim srcem regije” i prvim “(eko) zelenim gradom” u Istočnoj Evropi. Festival je jučer, u petak 09. septembra / rujna svečano otvoren u galeriji Collegium Artisticum. Na otvaranju su se prisutnima obratili Elma Durmišević, direktorica Festivala, Aler Grubbs, predstavnica USAID-a, Ellen van Reesch ispred Ambasade Kraljevine Holandije u BiH, doc. dr. Dženana Bijedić sa Arhitektonskog fakulteta u Sarajevu, te Ljubo Bešlić, gradonačelnik Mostara...

This year’s closing key note speaker of Sarajevo Green Design Festival is architect –planer Ken Yeang. Ken Yeang is one of the leading ecodesigners, theoreticians, and thinkers in the field of green design. His work on the green agenda started in the 70s with his doctoral dissertation for the University of Cambridge on ecological design and planning. Yeang is the author of several books on ecological design, and the design of green skyscrapers including The Skyscraper, Bioclimatically Considered: A Design Primer (1996) published by Wiley-Academy...

Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Uni Twente, a world leading thinker on “ Remaking the Way We Make Things” and know for Cradle to Cradle concept is joining Sarajevo Green Design Festival 2011. Prof. Braungart contributes world-wide to scientific discussions questioning the negative consequences of consumer items produced in industry. Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Uni Twente will be talking about Cradle to Cradle concept that he developed together with the America architect William McDonough.
